高中校园里最难忘的一件事英语作文
The Most Unforgettable Thing That Happened in High School
Hi there! My name is Timmy and I'm in 5th grade. My big sister Jessica just graduated from high school last month. She's going to start college in the fall to study nursing. I'm really proud of her for working so hard and getting good grades.
Jessica told me all about the craziest thing that happened during her senior year of high school. At first I didn't really believe her story because it sounds like something out of a movie! But she swears it's all true.
It all started on a Friday morning in April. Jessica was in her calculus class, trying to stay awake because math is just so boring. All of a sudden, the fire alarm went off! The teacher told everyone to line up single file and exit the building just like they practiced in the fire drills.
As Jessica's class was leaving the building, she noticed that there was a lot of commotion outside. Teachers were running around looking confused and worried. Some students were crying. Jessica asked her friend Anna what was going on, but Anna didn't know either.
Then the principal came on the loudspeaker. In a very serious voice, he announced that the school was being evacuated due to a bomb threat. He said all students and staff needed to immediately go to the football stadium and wait for further instructions.
Can you imagine? A bomb threat! At a high school! Jessica said she was shocked and a little scared, but also kind of excited because it was like something you'd see in an action movie. So Jessica and all her classmates walked over to the football stadium, along with everyone else from the high school. She said it was a little chaotic with over 2000 students all trying to fit into the stands. Some teachers were trying to keep order, but a lot of kids were goofing off or causing trouble.
After about an hour of waiting in the hot sun, the principal finally came on the loudspeaker again. He explained that earlier that morning, the school office had received an anonymous phone call claiming there was a bomb hidden somewhere inside the building. The police had been called and did a full search of the premises, but didn't find any bomb or suspicious device. However, just to be on the safe side, the principal said they were closing school for the rest of the day. He asked everyone to
remain calm and follow their teachers' instructions for an orderly dismissal process.
Jessica said it took forever for her classroom to be dismissed. She had to wait in the stadium for over two hours! Finally, her calculus teacher led Jessica's class out to the student parking lot. The students who drove themselves to school were allowed to go home immediately. But for the students who got rides or took the bus, they had to wait even longer for the buses to arrive and get them.
By the time Jessica got home, it was already 3pm! She was super hungry and went straight to the kitchen for a snack. That's when she noticed the house was really quiet and our mom's car wasn't in the driveway.
Uh oh...with all the chaos of the bomb threat, Jessica had totally forgotten to call our mom and let her know what was going on! She could only imagine how worried our poor mom must have been when the school dismissed all the students without any explanation.
Sure enough, about 15 minutes later, our frantic mother came rushing through the front door. She had been driving around the neighborhood in a panic, trying to find Jessica and
make sure she was okay. When she finally saw Jessica sitting safely at home, Mom burst into tears from relief.
After she calmed down a bit, Mom demanded to know what had happened at school that day. Jessica felt really bad for not letting her know sooner about the bomb threat and evacuation. She explained the whole crazy situation to our mom, who was shocked and furious that the school had handled it so poorly by not communicating with parents.
That night, Mom made Jessica give her a play-by-play recap while she typed up a scathing email to the school administrators, ripping them a new one. She couldn't believe they didn't think to send out a robo-call, email blast, or any kind of notification to let parents know what was going on and that their kids were safe. Very irresponsible on the school's part, in Mom's opinion.
The next day, Saturday, was absolutely nuts. News vans from all the local TV stations were parked outside the high school, filming news reports about the bomb threat. It ended up being a huge story that made all the papers and news broadcasts for days.
Some parents were interviewed on camera, ranting and raving about how the school put their kids' lives at risk by not taking the threat more seriously. Other parents criticized the
school district for the lack of communication and for making thousands of students sit in a hot stadium for hours on end. Meanwhile, the police were working hard to try to figure out who had called in the bomb threat. They traced the call and eventually charged a 17-year-old former student with making terroristic threats and other serious crimes. Apparently this kid had gotten kicked out of the high school earlier in the year for disciplinary reasons, and the phony bomb threat was his messed up way of getting revenge.
The whole situation was just so crazy! Jessica was proud to tell all her friends that she was there and got to experience \"the day of the bomb threat\" first-hand. It's definitely going to be the most memorable and talked-about event from her senior year. Me, I'm just glad my big sister is safe and that it ended up being nothing more than an inconsiderate prank. Though I have to admit, part of me thought it was kind of cool and exciting in an action-movie kind of way. I can't wait until I'm in high school so I can have my own crazy stories to tell!
Anyway, that's the long story about the most unforgettable thing that happened to my sister Jessica in high school. Even though it was just a hoax, it was still a really intense day that she'll never forget. I'm sure she has plenty of other funny stories
from her high school years, but the bomb threat one will always take the cake!
